- Synopsis

Anxiously trying to fit into the peer-pressure cooker environment of junior high, thirteen-year-old Tracy (Evan Rachel Wood) goes to shocking lengths in order to befriend Evie (co-writer Nikki Reed), the most popular girl in school. Now the two are inseparable - and incorrigible - leaving Tracy's desperate mom (Academy Award winner Holly Hunter) powerless to rescue her from a whirlwind of drugs, sex and crime.

- Review

This was the movie that shot Nikki Reed to instant fame. Based on her own experiences as a 13-year-old, she co-wrote the script, and earned a lot of positive reviews and awards for her acting as well as the writing. The movie itself is very, very good, although perhaps a bit shocking to some people. Watching Tracy spiral out of control can be hard at times, and finding out what drives Evie and how powerless Evie herself really is, is perhaps even worse.

The acting is stellar from everyone. Nikki is very solid in her first acting role, totally convincing as Evie and portaying the sexy, confident side as well as the scared and insecure side brilliantly. Evan Rachel Wood as Tracy is superb as well, and Holly Hunter was nominated for an Oscar for her portayal of Melanie, Tracy's mom.

We personally really love this movie, and every Nikki fan should see this. This movie shows for real what it can be like to be 13 in our day and age. It's an important message, especially since so many people have no idea what kids that age are up to.
