Another tidbit of news regarding Chain Letter! Joblo.com says:
Since 2007 I’ve been following a little film called CHAIN LETTER, with hopes that I’d finally be able to see it one day (relive that day HERE). In the last three years, we’ve seen the film come close to a wide release, but so far, to no avail. Until now, that is. According to STYD, the Deon Taylor director horror flick has finally landed a release date… on DVD. Sad but true, the film is heading STD on us, though rumblings of a limited theatrical release may be in the works. At least there’s still some hope for it yet!
At this time, it looks like CHAIN LETTER will be hitting DVD on May 21, 2010, just in time for the big Memorial Day weekend. Very nice!
Starring Nikki Reed, Noah Segan, Keith David, Brad Dourif, and Betsy Russell, the film goes a little something like this: Six friends receive a mysterious chain letter via text messaging and in their email accounts from a maniac who’s hunting down teenagers who fail to forward his online chain letter. Who knew they should take the threats in the chain letter seriously? Or that chain letters using the teens’ favorite technologies to track them can kill? This maniacal game pits friend against friend as they race to beat rules that seem impossible to escape. Break the chain, lose a life. Do you pass it on? Does friendship mean anything? Also, I heard if you don’t pick CHAIN LETTER up on DVD and watch it, the same dude will come to your house and kill you. So mark that May 21st date on your calendar, and stick around for details on the theatrical run (if there is one).
